I slept very early but woke up early at 6:30 am which means I didn't really get a good night sleep thanks to jet lag.

Today orientation began and the directors basically discussed about health, transportation, and living in Shanghai. After the whole orientation, I had the opportunity to hang out with my Chinese roommate. She brought me and my other roommate to stock up on personal products. We took the taxi to 五角场 (Wu Jiao Chang). Before shopping, we all decided to eat first since it would be a hassle to tug our bags to the restaurant.

We were all going to eat at a restaurant called Grandma's Home but it was packed and there were many people waiting on line to be seated. So my Chinese roommate grabbed a number from multiple restaurants and soon got seated at this other restaurant near Grandma's Home.

It's more Hong Kong styled dishes but it's still delicious. There is a hint of sweetness in the dishes since after all this is Shanghai. The photos were taken by my Chinese roommate and I love how she takes it for a menu and even writes the name next to it. More photos below!!
