Today was Brittany’s turn to plan our day. She planned on bringing us to the beach near Fisherman’s Wharf. Fisherman’s Wharf was very beautiful especially with the glowing blue skies in the background. It would have been an even better sight in the evening when the sun sets.

First Stop: Fisherman's Wharf

The beach was a huge disappointment because it was mainly polluted. One of the men residing there informed us that kids have drowned here so the beach was shut down. He was so friendly that he led us out and helped us catch the bus.

Since none of us wanted to stay, we headed back to the hostel and decided to split off and meet up at the end of the day for dinner.

I chose to go to Maokong Gondola, which was one of the top things to do on Trip Advisor. I wanted to see the sunset so I left the hostel around 5 pm. Since it was a rainy day, the line wasn’t long so I waited for the gondola with the transparent bottom made of glass.

Next Stop: Dinner!

My friends texted me that we should eat at this Taiwanese restaurant called Din Tai Feng, famous for its steamed bun dumplings. The restaurant was right in Taipei 101, on the first floor.

I found out Catey finally got to rent a city bike and biked around the entire Shilin. On the other hand, Brittany took the subway to Beitou (where the hot springs were) and walked around.

Last Stop: Dessert & Bar

Ice Monster

The food was delicious! After dinner, I suggested to get shaved ice at Ice Monster, which was at a walk-able distance. So we took a stroll there and luckily the line wasn’t that long. We only had to wait at most 10 minutes. The shaved ice wasn’t really the best I’ve eaten; it was much better in Malaysia.

After dessert, Brittany led us to a bar, where we drank and talked. The next day, I ate at the café again and ordered the same tuna sandwich platter.
